Patch Blog: Feeling Patriotic — Nearly a Week Early

Patriotic concert with patriotic people this Saturday - for FREE! I know I'll be there.

So every year, the Southern California Mormon Choir hosts a Patriotic Concert and this year is their 28th year! This Saturday, June 30 they'll be singing traditional American folk music classics and spirituals with perhaps even some random Gerswhin tunes. The real treat this year will be from their featured guest speaker, Congresswoman Judy Chu.

The Southern California Mormon Choir is a 100-voice choral ensemble organized under the auspices of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Since its formation in 1953, the choir has been performing concerts of classical, sacred, folk, patriotic and popular choral music throughout the Southern California area.

More than 500 residents, including myself from throughout the San Gabriel Valley attend annually.  Beginning at 7 p.m. the concert will be held at 614 West Foothill Boulevard, Arcadia.  Admission and parking are free but limited so come EARLY! This concert is open to the public and I would love to see all of my Arcadia friends there. Get your Fourth of July celebration going early! Sing on USA!
