Cal Phil's Festival on the Green: A Perfect Date Night

Enjoy an evening of dining, live music and even a little dancing.

Escape to a familiar surrounding, but feel like you’re far from home. Saturday is the opening night of the famed at the . Put on by the California Philharmonic, this popular concert series is one looked forward to by many each year. It officially signals the sights and sounds of summer.

The first of three concerts, each with a new theme and new music performed, Saturday’s concert is titled, “Beethoven & The Beatles.”

Hear Beethoven’s 5th Symphony as well as Egmont Overture under the twilight stars on the pristine green lawn of the Arboretum. The symphony is led by Maestro Victor Vener’s masterful musical direction.

Also on the schedule is a Beatles tribute by fabulous singing group, The Fab Four. They sound eerily like the original British rock stars and are just as much fun. Get up and dance along with your  date, friends or kids. It’s sure to be a blast. 

All ages are welcome, so you can bring the whole family. This concert also makes for a romantic date, so if you want to spend some alone time with that special someone, this is the place to impress her or him.

You can bring your own food and drink to save some money. There are also freshly made food options on site as well as soft drinks, wine, beer and coffee.

The gates open at 5:30 p.m. where you can get in a pre-concert meal while listening to live jazz. This pre-concert entertainment is provided by redwhite+bluezz.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. but it's best to arrive early to find your seat.

Be sure to bring a sweater or jacket, as the event goes well into the night, with temperatures dropping considerably.

You can purchase tickets at the Arboretum Box Office, starting as low as $20 for unreserved lawn seating, which opens at 10 a.m. on the day of the concert.
