San Gabriel Car Chase Suspect Caught: UPDATE
An SUV driver that evaded police in the San Gabriel was caught, after an officer involved shooting.

ARCADIA, CA — A Thursday morning SUV vehicle pursuit began in the San Gabriel Valley ended with the detaining and arrest of the suspect.
The suspect was apprehended after a search that lasted several hours, according to the City of San Gabriel spokesperson. The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, was taken into custody at 9:30 a.m.
Authorities began their search of a San Gabriel neighborhood after police attempted to pull him over for a possible code violation, according to the San Gabriel Police Department spokesperson.

Police were then led on a chase in an SUV. The suspect was reported by police to have run off, and exchanged gunfire with officers. There is no word as to why gunfire began.
The suspect drove away, leading officers to a cul-de-sac where he got out and ran off.The search began in the area of Del Mar Avenue and the San Bernardino (10) Freeway.

The suspect was described as "Hispanic, 5-feet 8-inches tall approximately 175 pounds with black hair and brown eyes."
As of 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning, traffic was jammed in the area of I-10 and Del Mar Avenue.

The California Highway Patrol closed Del Mar Avenue off-ramps and on-ramps in the area in an effort to limit vehicles from entering the search zone.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies assisted in the search with K-9 units.
