Complete Dental Health to the Rescue (of the Republic)

In the Republic's darkest hour, progressive dentists save the nation.

Maybe you’re like me when you’re sitting through 16-hours of continuing education; the material covering orofacial growth and development is fascinating and the learning process is magical. But there are times when my mind wanders just a little. And sometimes I just can’t completely black out the stuff I see on CNN. Like when the Mueller Investigation is summarized by the AG, seemingly speaking in Tongues.

And, I remember not that long ago my phone was something I carried around just in case I had a flat tire or if someone lopped off an upper lateral incisor, courtesy of an aging Jolly Rancher. But…no more; now my phone accesses Facebook and the 35%, some of whom, I troll.

Since back in November, 2016, I can’t stop wondering about the old white guys and misguided spouses who handed the country over to a game show host who continues to goosestep over the Constitution as if it were toilet paper stuck to the shoe of some clueless loser attempting to board a plane.

Originally, I thought the forgotten aging Caucasians were infatuated by the simplicity of white hooded robes as the coolest new old thing in rural evening wear. And even though most of ‘em couldn’t tell the difference between Christian charity, the stars and bars, and a six-pack; I learned there was hope for their next generation…should the Republic (as we know it) survive.

So, who enables a guy who was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple or basically hoses every everyone with whom he’s ever struck a deal? Or, who supports a narcissist who rarely experiences close encounters with the truth and has trust issues with the CIA, but not enemy kingpins/murderers and rapists (not to be confused with his evaluation of immigrants)?

While I sat there in a smallish conference room in Costa Mesa, learning and fighting off the day terrors that awaited me on my iPhone at the next break, I had an unlikely epiphany. It was like the first time I ever saw USC beat UCLA and Notre Dame in the same year…or when my dental assistant finally changed the station and ended Michael Bolton’s assault on my inner and outer ears. And, the diagnosis was dead in front of me.

Sleep Disordered Breathing can strike anyone at an early age; the effects can last for a lifetime. And if you believe making the country great again means separate but equal, beautiful walls, and only married women having credit cards (if their husband co-signs); then you probably think having no teeth is really no big deal. For that matter, when the last White House crook resigned, my dental school class included two women out of 120-dental students. In any case, if PT Barnum thought the likes of you and yours were born every minute, stuff like complete health, airway issues, and Sleep Disordered Breathing were probably more Greek than King’s English.

Some of the Sleep Disordered Breathing symptoms include ADD/ADHD, difficulty in school, aggressive behavior, mouth breathing, and impaired cognitive, emotional, and physical growth and development. The good news is research has established a clinical connection between childhood health, Sleep Disordered Breathing, and a predictable early solution using unique oral appliances (Ask your dentist about Healthy Start.)

As I left The OC, homeward bound, I felt a calm inside I hadn’t enjoyed in some 28-months. And true, today the country, Constitution, and Statue of Liberty might well be up a creek without a paddle. But the future is bright…because Complete Health dentistry is coming to the rescue and saving the Republic and generations to come from folks who’ve had a lifetime of airway issues and…tweet at 3AM.
