Connect 4

Oh, so you do remember playing that game when you were a kid! Yes indeed, it was all about attempting to connect four of the same colored chips side by side in the slots before your opponent could connect his and win the game.

                                The same looking chips.

Do you ever wonder why winning the game meant only by using the same colored chips? I mean why couldn’t you win using multi colored ones after all the name of the game was Connect 4 right? Imagine how your way of thinking would have expanded over the years knowing that connecting different looking chips still meant being able to feel that good about winning.

How good does it feel when you are winning?

Today’ society connects to one another through emails and texts, not all like the days years ago when a phone call meant actually listening to a loved one’s voice. Still with me? I want you to still remember that winning feeling. Every time you greet someone and look at them directly in the eyes instead of speaking to them without even looking at them you are placing a chip in a slot, remember it’s about connecting.
Finding something to agree on or laugh about in that uncomfortable conversation you just had with another person brings about connection that enables you to slide one more chip into place and yet they will never be the same, always different and sometimes very challenging. There is never a winner in what stays the same.

Life will always reveal newer and bolder slots to fill.

The winning feeling comes from overcoming challenges and this feeling is true connection to who you really are. Slot by slot, day by day never the same when you open yourself to what is different. Connect 4 copyright 2013 Patricia Huff
