Coyote Sightings in Arcadia? Just Whistle

Living in the foothills has benefits, but also wild neighbors! City Hall is offering a free coyote safety whistle to residents who need them

ARCADIA, CA—The city of Arcadia has warned that residents have to learn how to live with coyotes around, due to the foothill location of their city.

The city is offering a free safety whistle to all residents who wish to discourage coyotes safely. Hikers, runners and those who enjoy walking through the city parks or sidewalks visit city hall to pick up your safety whistle, if you haven't already.

"It is not unusual to see coyotes waking through neighborhoods," a recent City warning posted on Twitter stated. "Coyotes prefer to live in more natural surrounding and instinctively have a fear of humans."
