Disturbing Home Invasion Leads City to Offer Reward for Leads

The home invasion and accosting of four females in Maywood led SGV city to offer a reward if information leads to arrest/conviction

ARCADIA, CA — Authorities have announced a $5,000 reward for information that helps lead to arrest and conviction a man who is responsible for numerous home invasions over the past month.

The latest incident happened Oct. 20 in the 3600 block of 53rd Street, according to city representative Chuck Sifuentes.

"The suspect entered the house through a kitchen window, made his way through the home and found the girl's bedroom," Sifuentes said.

"(He) entered the bedroom and grabbed the sleeping girl by the leg and covered her mouth, at which time the victim's father confronted the suspect before he fled," Sifuentes said.

Four female residents have reported being accosted in their Maywood homes, including a 13-year-old girl who was sleeping in her bedroom.

Other incidents occurred earlier this month in residences near the 6100 block of King Avenue and the 4300 block of 53rd Street.

"There is a predator who is accosting a number of females in our community that must be stopped before he attacks another victim," said Maywood City Council member Thomas Martin.

"The number one priority for the city council is the safety and security of our residents and by establishing this reward we are providing an incentive for someone to come forward and offer information leading to the arrest and conviction of this sick individual," Martin aid.

The suspect was described as Hispanic, in his 20s, between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a thin build and wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the sheriff's East Los Angeles Station at (323) 264-4151, or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
