Family Nature Hike at Fryman Canyon

Meet at the Community Center at 7:15 a.m. SHARP.

We will meet at the Community Center at 7:15 a.m. sharp and leave by bus at 7:30 a.m. This three mile round trip hike through Lila Wilacre Estate Park in Los Angeles’ Fryman Canyon, takes you from the San Fernando Valley floor to the top of Hollywood Hills. The park, once the estate of a silent film star, is part of the Betty B. Dearing Trail, an ambitious attempt to create a hiking trail that extends from Griffith Park to the Pacific Ocean. This hike offers breathtaking valley views the higher you hike! At the top, you’ll discover stone walls and climb stairways built by WPA workers during the Great Depression of the 1930’s. After the hike we will picnic with our lunch together, please be sure to bring sunscreen and a hat.

$15 fee includes transportation and lunch. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
