Heatwave Knocks Out Power Across Los Angeles, Officials Say
Thousands of homes across the southland were without power Wednesday and into Thursday.

ARCADIA, CA — On Thursday, crews worked to restore power to thousands of homes and businesses across Los Angeles and Riverside County. The heat has caused weather-related outages throughout the southland according to the Department of Water and Power.
Outages began in some areas Wednesday when heat advisories were in force across Los Angeles County.
Nearly 1,000 remained without power on Thursday, a lesser number of Department of Water and Power customers who were still without power from the thousands Wednesday, according to DWP spokesman Michael Ventre.
