LA County Announces Limited Reopening Of Lower-Risk Businesses And Public Spaces

The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health has issued a new order easing some of the Safer at Home restrictions to allow certain low-risk retail businesses to reopen for curbside pick-up or delivery only. Only employees may enter the lower-risk retail businesses. Businesses must adhere to specific guidelines and make the appropriate adaptations to ensure they are adhering to COVID-19 transmission mitigation requirements. For more specific information on these guidelines, please visit publichealth.lacounty.gov.“While I’m sure we are all eager to get out, the public should be mindful that these are limited reopenings and that the broader Safer At Home Orders are still in effect,” said City Manager Dominic Lazzaretto. “Travel outside of the house should be limited but if you do go out to a low-risk business or trail, please maintain social distancing, wear face coverings as appropriately designated, and remember to wash your hands.” The low-risk businesses identified in the order include:

• Bookstores
• Florists
• Clothing and Shoe Stores
• Sporting Goods Stores
• Toy Stores
• Music Stores
• Auto Dealerships

In addition, public and private golf courses may reopen under specific conditions required by the revised Order. Arcadia’s Par 3 Golf Course will reopen on Saturday; however, reservations are required. Public trails and trailheads within Los Angeles County may also reopen so long as individuals adhere to social distancing and any other requirements of the administrating governmental agency.
