Mulch Fire Off 605 Freeway
Irwindale brush fire began in mulch pile off the 605 Freeway.

IRWINDALE, CA — An early morning mulch fire had firefighters out in force in the city of Irwindale Monday.
Firefighters put out the blaze that began in a pile of mulch, authorities said.
The fire was reported at just before 1:45 a.m. on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway at Arrow Highway, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Bernard Peters.

"It took about 20 minutes to fully extinguish the flames," Peters said.
No injuries were reported, he said. Caltrans dispatched equipment to dig up the mulch. The size of the mulch pile was not available.
