Pardon Me

A Turkey is pardoned at the white house, make your choice.

President Trump just pardoned a Turkey. Imagine that, a human being pardons a live animal. Where does that concept come from? I mean a human choice in deciding whether an innocent healthy turkey is to live or die?

Perhaps there is something to be learned here, a matter of personal contemplation. Sometimes messages are discreet. We don’t all have to be on the same page you know, especially when the pages turn and there is a lot more to be read.

It reminds me of something Russell Means spoke of years ago. “Before I was six years old, my grandparents and mother taught me that if all the green things that grow were taken from the earth, there would be no life.”

Perhaps a century old white house tradition has a hidden message. Pardon me, but I get it.

If Governor Brown had his way we would all be eating veggie burgers. Personally, I am thankful for the realism in our Native American teachers. Now, if we could just do something about all that traffic.
