Suspicious Powder, Sick Employees Closes Area Wells Fargo Branch
Two patients were sent to the hospital today following the discovery of "white powder" found at an El Monte Wells Fargo.

BALDWIN PARK/EL MONTE, CA — Two patients were sent to the hospital today following the discovery of "white powder" found at an El Monte Wells Fargo.
The fourth floor of a Wells Fargo bank building at 3400 Flair Drive in El Monte was evacuated due to a suspicious white powder discovered inside an envelope at the bank branch, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
A total of seven patients from inside the bank building were "evaluated and (were) non-symptomatic,'' the fire department said. Two of the seven were transported for evaluation, the county fire department reported.

A hazardous materials team has been sent to the location. It was not immediately known if the powder was toxic, according to the fire department.
