Temple City Teen Struck By Car Monday

A Temple City High School student was struck by a vehicle Monday, authorities said.

TEMPLE CITY, CA — High school students on their way to Temple City High School had a scare Monday when a 14-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle near the school. According to authorities, the girl was not seriously hurt.

Deputies were dispatched about 8 a.m. to the 9500 block of E. Lemon Ave., said Detective Mike Bayer of the sheriff's Temple City station.

At the time of this report it was not known if the motorist was cited or arrested.

The teen, whose name was not released, complained of leg pain, a sheriff's lieutenant said.

"Paramedics transported the girl, accompanied by her mother, to an area hospital to be evaluated, but her injuries were said to be minor," Los Angeles County Fire Department Gustavo Medina said.
