The luxury of prescription drugs

My patient was comfortable in a prone position as I slowly and ever so carefully pressed and massaged releasing the congested energy within his neck meridians. " This is a luxury he said spontaneously." He had just released a thought pattern verbally that had been buried like baggage within the muscles and tendons of his neck.

No, I thought to myself, this is far from being a luxury.

It takes a lot more effort to have a therapeutic massage than it does to wake up in the morning with chronic lower back pain and just reach into the medicine cabinet for a pain killer. By the way just why is it conveniently called a medicine cabinet anyway? Not every one thinks that way either. Any way getting back to just what is a luxury when it comes to receiving health care.

    Prescription drugs are a luxury.

They are convenient to take, because they only take up a few minutes of your time. And that's another thing, in a society that lives throughout their day receiving everything instantly whether it be through a phone app or microwave just where did your time go when 10 years ago you had even more of it? Not only are prescription drugs a luxury but now so are the courtesy phone calls from your local pharmacy reminding you to swing by and pick them up. No, massage is far from being a luxury. It will take some effort on your part. If you have never had a massage it may be a little uncomfortable the first time. You may even find yourself discovering another aspect of your body that held unto congested energy without you ever knowing until you had that first massage. It is a learning experience as well as a treatment. The reason why you believe it to be a luxury is because you were probably raised in a society with a belief system that is self sacrificing and undeserving.

Why can't health care be intimate enough for you to really feel yourself come alive?

After all isn’t that what you are striving for anyway, I mean more life? After having massage integrated into your health care routine you may even find yourself experiencing even more of that so called lost time that you say you don't have and wouldn't that be a healthy moment to experience!

There is a huge amount of prescription drugs being distributed that are luxurious and wasted while Therapeutic massage is and will always be very essential in prolonging health.]
