Trouble at the Track: Trainer Shoves Jockey/Commissioner, Arrested By Arcadia PD
On Friday morning a trainer who recently returned to Santa Anita after a suspension shoved a jockey in an apparent assault.

ARCADIA, CA — A trainer at Santa Anita was arrested after a run-in with jockey Alex Solis according to the Arcadia police.
Trainer Steve Miyadi had a disagreement that got physical with Solis, who then reported the incident to the Arcadia Police.
Solis is a commissioner on the California Horse Racing Board according to the Daily Racing Form report of the incident. He disclosed that the disagreement was about a recent 30-day suspension Miyadi served for a medication violation found in one of his runners in December. Though he was not injured Solis told DRF that he planned on filing assault charges against Miyadi.

“I could have broken my hand,” Solis said.
The incident occurred at Clocker’s Corner, a popular morning gathering spot for horsemen and racing fans according to the report.

Solis, who was at Santa Anita on Friday morning for workouts, said he informed Santa Anita security of the incident.
Miyadi was taken from the track in an Arcadia police department squad car at approximately 7:30 a.m..
A police spokesman from Arcadia Police Department stated that Miyadi could face misdemeanor charges for the incident.
