Wildfire Danger in San Gabriel Mountains Downgraded to "High": U.S. Forest Service

Recent rains have left the Los Angeles area mountains with lower fire danger, though still high, the U.S. Forest Service said.

ARCADIA, CA — The danger of wildfire in the Angeles National Forest and San Gabriel Mountains National Monument has been downgraded due to the recent rains, officials said on Wednesday.

Wildfire danger has lowered on Wednesday from "very high" to "high."

"Winter rains have brought much-needed precipitation to the Southland, raising fuel moisture levels across the forest," said Nathan Judy of the U.S. Forest Service. "We will continue to assess fire danger in the coming months and modify restriction as needed."
