Windy weather expected in San Gabriel Valley, San Bernardino and Antelope Valley according to NWS. Expect cooler temps until later this week

ARCADIA, CA - Expect a weather change across the San Gabriel Mountains and valley today as gusting winds will buffet create an elevated wildfire danger. Combined with that, blowing dust could potentially disrupt traffic, National Weather Service forecasters said.

"Northwest-to-north winds will blow through the Interstate 5 corridor in the mountains and the Western Antelope Valley, gusting to between 35 and 50 miles per hour, with the strongest winds occurring in the late afternoon and evening through Tuesday night," the NWS released in a statement. "Gusty winds will also strike parts of Ventura and Santa Barbara counties"

Humidity will not fall low enough to add red flag warning, however "the wind-prone areas will see elevated fire danger with potential rapid fire spread due to the extremely dry fuels," the National Weather Service stated.

Motorists are urged to drive with caution through mountain passes and in wind-prone areas, and to prepare themselves for gusty crosswinds, "which can be especially hazardous for high-profile vehicles," they stated in the release.
