Cisneros, Chu Introduce Bill to Fund Clean Drinking Water (house.gov) — Azusa’s drinking water supply could see long‑term protection under a new bill to expand funding for cleanup of the San Gabriel Basin. Reps. Gil Cisneros and Judy Chu want to remove funding caps and reauthorize $250 million so Azusa and neighboring cities can finish decades of groundwater restoration and ensure safe, affordable water for more than 1.5 million residents.
   

• Madalynn Baker '14, DNP '28, Awarded Prestigious Jonas Scholarship for DNP Program (apu.edu) — A doctoral nursing student at Azusa Pacific University has earned a prestigious national Jonas Scholarship, bringing new recognition to the Azusa campus and its nursing program. • Estimated $1B generated from new sales tax hike will sit frozen after legal action (nypost.com) — Azusa residents are now paying some of the highest sales tax rates in Los Angeles County after Measure ER raised the county rate, but a lawsuit means the new revenue will sit frozen in escrow. While shoppers in Azusa see the extra half‑cent on every taxable dollar, none of the promised healthcare and essential service funding can be spent until the courts decide whether the measure is legal.
