2 Pedestrians Struck, Killed in West Covina Hours Apart [UPDATE]

A man in his 50s or early 60s was struck by a vehicle about 7 Friday morning, the other was struck at around 9 p.m. Thursday.

WEST COVIN, CA - Police in West Covina on Friday were investigating the deaths of two pedestrians within a 10-hour period in different parts of the city.

A man in his 50s or early 60s was struck by a vehicle about 7 Friday morning near Sunset and Rowland avenues and was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital, the West Covina Police Department reported. His name was not immediately available.

The motorist remained at the scene, according to police.

About 9 p.m. Thursday, 62-year-old Victor Aguirre of Covina was struck by a vehicle near Azusa and Fairgrove avenues and died at the scene, coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said.

The motorist in that accident also remained at the scene.
