• Baldwin Park Remembers The Dead With Annual Día De Los Muertos Celebration Oct. 23 (patch.com) — Baldwin Park is inviting residents to its free annual Día de los Muertos Community Cultural Celebration on Oct. 23 at Susan Rubio Zocalo Park. Neighbors can honor departed loved ones while enjoying art, music, educational activities, and traditions rooted in Mexican and Latin American heritage.
   

• Man Discovered Dead Inside Baldwin Park Home Identified by Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner (baldwinparknewsonline.com) — Police are investigating the late-September death of 49-year-old Bradley Mullvain, found unresponsive in a home near Maine and Merced avenues in Baldwin Park after worried relatives requested a welfare check. The Medical Examiner has not yet determined his cause or manner of death, and Baldwin Park Police are asking anyone with information to contact the department as the case remains open.
   

• Red Cross: Patients are counting on blood and platelet donors to give now (redcross.org) — Baldwin Park residents have several chances this month to donate blood locally, including drives at Baldwin Park Bilingual Seventh-day Adventist Church on Oct. 21, Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park on Oct. 23, and Sierra Vista High School on Nov. 4. The Red Cross is urgently asking donors of all blood types to book appointments, offering e-gift card rewards and flexible scheduling across nearby cities as well.
