Baldwin Park To Host Tire Collection Event To Promote Proper Disposal

BALDWIN PARK, CA — Baldwin Park residents will have an opportunity to dispose of old tires safely at a tire collection event on Saturday, Nov. 7 aimed at reducing waste and helping keep the environment clean, the city announced on Thursday.

The in-person event will give residents a convenient way to drop off worn-out tires rather than leave them on their properties or dispose of them improperly, the city said.

Discarded tires can become environmental hazards when left in unauthorized locations, potentially collecting standing water and creating breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Proper collection and disposal can help reduce these risks and prevent illegal dumping.

Residents with old tires taking up space were encouraged to participate and take advantage of the opportunity to dispose of them properly.

The event is open to Los Angeles County residents from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the city said.

Tires from businesses and tractor-sized tires will not be accepted, the city said.

For more information, or to drop off 10 tires or more, residents were advised to call the county at 626-434-5540.
