Baldwin Park Hotel Fire Sends Nine To Hospital

Nine people were treated for smoke inhalation following a third-floor fire at the Baldwin Park Regency Inn and Suites Hotel Sunday.

BALDWIN PARK — Nine people suffered smoke inhalation and one room was damaged in a fire on the third floor of a Baldwin Park hotel, authorities said.

The blaze was reported just before 9 p.m. Sunday at the Regency Inn and Suites, 14600 block of Dalewood St., Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Kent Medina said.

One room was "fully charred," Medina said.

All nine smoke inhalation patients were taken to hospitals, he said. It was not known how many were in or around the burning room.

Their current conditions are unknown. The cause of the fire is still under investigation according to Medina.
