Baldwin Park Lines Up Its 'Summer Concerts In The Park'
Hello, summer! Get ready for six Thursday evenings of free, top-notch entertainment.

BALDWIN PARK, CA – The city of Baldwin Park will kick off its 24th annual Summer Concerts in the Park series on Thursday, June 21 at Morgan Park.
The Band Fresh, a top-40 group, will take the stage for an evening of entertainment and dancing at the park at 4100 Baldwin Park Blvd. from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“Concerts in the Park is a free family outing for the community to enjoy. We bring them a large variety of music genres, and Baldwin Park is recognized around the San Gabriel Valley as one of the longest standing and highly-anticipated summer concert series,” said April Rojo, program coordinator with the Department of Recreation and Community Services, which organizes the concerts.

This year’s musical line-up is diverse, beginning with Band Fresh and its top-40 hits, followed by Richard Bean & SAPO, the author of the famous “Suavecito” hit infused with Latin Rock.
Also planned is a tribute to great rock ’n roll performers led by Cash Killer & King, and the Norteño group Conjunto Azabache will perform for its hometown, led by a pre-concert performance by Erik Antonio ft. Mariachi Lindas Mexicanas. Tierra, back by popular demand, will ignite the audience with its Latin R&B.

And closing out the summer concert series is tribute band DSB, with high-energy recreations of Journey’s classic hits.
Concerts in the Park will be held Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 21 to Aug. 2 in Morgan Park’s Cesar E. Chavez Amphitheatre.
The concert series dates and bands are:
- June 21 - The Band Fresh, Top 40
- July 28 - Richard Bean & SAPO, Latin Rock
- July 12 - Cash Killer & King, Rock’n Roll
- July 19 - Conjunto Azabache, Norteño with pre-concert by Erik Antonio ft. Mariachi Lindas Mexicanas
- July 26 - Tierra, Latin R&B
- Aug. 2 - DSB, Journey Tribute Band
“Our concerts are filled with entertainment for the entire family! The community can enjoy free concerts and giveaway prizes throughout the event,” said Manuel Carrillo, director of the Recreation and Community Services Department.
Carrillo said community groups will lead demonstrations or presentations during concert intermissions, and that the amphitheater setting is designed for audiences to enjoy the live bands. Guests also can bring lawn chairs or blankets for additional seating comfort during shows.
Also on concert nights will be Baldwin Park’s Downtown Street Market, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays, at Morgan Park.
Concert-goers can enjoy food from vendors, a beer garden and fresh produce.
After the concert series ends Aug. 2, the Downtown Street Market will launch on Aug. 9 entertainment on two stages, with an additional six musical performances to keep the fun going all summer long.
The Downtown Street Market will feature entertainment, food and street-market fun in the downtown area of Baldwin Park until Sept. 13 culminating in a Fiesta Mexicana-themed night with performances featuring Mariachi Arriba Guadalajara and Mariachi Divas, the city said.
