Baldwin Park Police Chief Fired by Majority City Council
Majority ruled in the decision to release Baldwin Park Police Chief Michael Taylor this week. In closed session, a 3-2 vote dismissed him.

BALDWIN PARK, CA — The Baldwin Park City Council fired police Chief Michael Taylor this week after less than three years on the job.
The council voted 3-2 in closed session Wednesday to dismiss Taylor "without cause," Mayor Manuel Lozano said in remarks reported by the Pasadena Star-News. Councilwoman Cruz Baca and Councilman Ricardo Pacheco voted against his dismissal.
Captain Joe Bartolotti was immediately appointed interim chief, the Star- News reported

Taylor, who had been with the department since 1981, was making a base salary of $165,000, according to city documents cited by the newspaper.
