Raymundo Hernandez was in the westbound carpool lane east of Sunflower Avenue when a dark-colored SUV crossed in front of the motorcyclist from the far left main lane about 5:10 a.m. Monday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Hernandez, a 53-year-old Victorville resident, lost control of the motorcycle, which went into a slide in the carpool lane. He was thrown from the bike and run over by a white, extended-cab Toyota Tundra that also had been traveling in the far left main lane, ahead of the motorcycle but behind the SUV, which kept going, according to the CHP.
Anyone with information about the crash was urged to call the CHP Baldwin Park area office at (626) 338-1164 and ask for Officer R. Rodriguez.
