BREAKING: Suspect Caught in Baldwin Park Following Chase through Irwindale Neighborhood

The third suspect was caught by a Special Encorcment Bureau Los Angeles team following a car chase and search through the neighborhood.

BALDWIN PARK, CA — The third suspect was found by Special Enforcement Bureau Los Angeles, according to Irwindale Police Captain Ty Henshaw.

"The suspect is in custody," Henshaw reported. "He was found hiding in a house by the SEBLA team."

Irwindale police initially chased a possibly stolen SUV to nearby Baldwin Park today, where two suspects were taken into custody and one ran into a neighborhood and was being sought until his ultimate capture by special enforcement bureau team.

The initial chase through the area led to a vehicle crash. The driver evaded authorities on foot, according to reports from Henshaw via Twitter.

Irwindale Police authorities stated that a search for the suspect was underway in the 1800 block of Elizabeth Street. Area homes were evacuated. K-9 officers were employed in the search.

"Three suspects were in the car," according to the report. "Two were taken into custody and one threw a gun into the street."

ABC7 reported that a third suspect had barricaded themselves inside a shed or laundry room in the back of a home in the area, according to witnesses. A Twitter report from Capt. Henshaw stated that the suspect could be armed.

The situation started around 10:15 a.m. when Irwindale police saw a car speeding through the area. When officers attempted to a traffic stop the driver sped away, leading to a car chase and crash. Margaret Heath Elementary School and Jerry D. Holland Middle School were on lockdown as a precautionary measure following a car chase and subsequent search of the area near Maine Avenue and Olive Street.

There were no children on campus, according to the Baldwin Park Unified School District Superintendent's office.

The SUV may have been stolen from the Riverside area, police said.
