Baldwin Park Set to Get New Digital Billboards
The city council recently voted to allow some of its existing billboards to be converted to digital.

A proposal to convert some of Baldwin Parkās existing billboards to digital was recently passed by the city council.
Clear Channel Outdoor wants to convert three of its signs, located at the Cloverleaf Business Park, so that they have digital display. The ordinance as written currently prohibits this, according to the report.
The boards that will be changed were to be along Interstates 10 and 605, according to a city staff report.

According to a report by the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the city would receive an about $3,145,509.03 over the term of the 30-year agreement.Ā Existing static billboards provided the city only received a one-time payment of $50,000 per sign in 1999, the paper reported.
The revenue would be used toward improvements around the billboards, including landscaping, signs and street sweeping, in an effort to reduce the impact of the signs, the Tribune reported.
