Bicyclist Injured in Crash North of Azusa

The bicyclist fell while riding down a hill on San Gabriel Canyon Road, north of Azusa, Sunday, according to published reports.

A bicyclist suffered serious injuries Sunday in the Angeles National Forest when he fell while riding down a hill on San Gabriel Canyon Road, it was reported.

The rider, a La Puente man in his late 50s, was airlifted to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center following the crash on the mountain road -- just north of Old San Gabriel Canyon Road -- according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune online.

A California Highway Patrol officer told the news agency that the man was riding down the hill and apparently lost control -- running off the road -- and was thrown from the bike.
