'Glass Everywhere': Car Plows Into Food 4 Less, Injuring 2, Reports Say

EL MONTE, CA — A car crashed into a Food 4 Less, injuring multiple people Tuesday morning in El Monte, according to reports.

The crash was reported at about 7:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Garvey Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Two people were struck and taken to a hospital, the agency said in an email.

"I heard a big bang and I saw the ceiling come falling down ... next thing I know there's a car in the store and there's glass,” Kirk Kvidhl, who was stocking shelves at the time of the crash, told KABC. “There was glass everywhere.”

The driver stayed on the scene, cooperating with authorities, KTLA reported.
