CHP Offers Smart Start Driving Class for Teens

The free class for teens and parents/guardians aims to illustrate the consequences of poor choices behind the wheel.

The l will be offering a free class for teenagers new to driving or who will soon be getting a license on Jan. 23.

The CHP’s “Start Smart” program aims to provide teens and their parents/guardians with an interactive class that shows the consequences of poor choices behind the wheel of a car.

The classes will include information of the CHP’s Mission of Safety, Service, and Security, the responsibilities of newly licensed drivers, the responsibilities of parents/guardians, and collision avoidance techniques.

The class will be at 6:15 p.m. Jan. 23 at the CHP Baldwin Park Area office, 14039 Franscisquito Ave.

Due to some graphic photos and videos shown during the presentation, each teenager must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and sign a waiver form prior to the beginning of each class.
