Deputies Arrest Man After Assault in La Puente
Man made criminal threats, assaulted daughter during argument.
A man is behind bars this morning after allegedly assaulting his adult daughter during a heated argument.
Arrested was Larry Ramirez, 59, of La Puente, on suspicion of making criminal threats and assault with a deadly weapon. Ramirez was held in lieu of $80,000 bail.
The incident happened around 8:40 p.m. Saturday night in the area of East Workman Street and North Third Street in La Puente. An argument began between Ramirez and his family. At some point, the argument escalated to Ramirez reportedly making criminal threats. Ramirez also reportedly assaulted his adult daughter with a weapon, which was not immediately disclosed.
Family members restrained Ramirez until law enforcement arrived, officials said.
Ramirez is scheduled to appear at Rio Hondo Municipal Court July 25.
