These business women in El Monte are pillars of the community and their journey all started when they got an idea, and said “sometimes you just have to go for it.” But each journey started off with a different path, a struggle, cancer, weight loss, and other major health issues, but the end result is just as powerful and continues to blossom. Let’s begin by introducing the One of four exceptional women of influence, Amalia Bonilla, owner of ABC (Another Bonilla Creation)

Amalia Bonilla lives in El Monte with her husband and her four lovely children. Amalia is a mom and business woman who takes care of business. She is able to juggle being a new mom, having children in multiple activities, a wife and business owner all in the same day. Amalia is the owner and creator of Another Bonilla Creation (ABC). She has been able to take her passion for baking and crafts to new heights and grow this into a thriving business. Her mastery in the kitchen with pastries and skilled hands making crafts and bows for various local cheer leading teams, softball teams and school sports teams has launched her to be a woman of influence in El Monte. Amalia is what you would call a mompreneur. It means “mom entrepreneur,” this title suits her to the core.

All around town you have most likely seen her handy work at sports events and not even known it. Amalia has organized craft fairs with the local Boy Scout troop and attends local craft fairs to show her work. Amalia has created a name for herself and with her business motto’s: “Creating Custom Cuteness...One Craft at a Time” and “Homespun Happiness Sold Here!!!” Amalia states that she “LOVE, LOVE, LOVES to create fabulous items of all sorts!

Amalia began her business as would go shopping and see items and think to herself, “I can make that.” Little by little, she realized that she could create anything with the right supplies and the the right attitude. People would often ask her where she got an item and she would reply, “I made it.” After their initial surprise, they would ask her to make them one or encourage her to go into business... so she did. “Amalia never ceases to amaze me with her creations. She has so many ideas and takes pride in everything she does. You can tell from the end product that she loves every customer,” says her husband Erick.

ABC specializes in custom orders and firmly believes that a girl can never ever have too many bows! All of ABC’s items are made to order in a smoke-free, pet-free home (edible creations may be made up to 3 days in advance). ABC makes everything as it is ordered. ABC is not a retail store and does not have a commercial location so please don’t drive around El Monte looking for them. You can only find them on Facebook at: www.FaceBook.com/AnotherBonillaCreation or you can email her at: rojosmama@aol.com or send a text message to: (626) 375-5952. Among Amalia’s many talents; she custom makes cake pops, cupcakes, hair bows, headbands, flower clips, baby bands, tutus, blankets, and ponchos. She generally prefers to make dainty desserts but on occasion, is asked to make cakes for parties.

Amalia has put many years of blood sweat and tears in to Another Bonilla Creation with sleepless night and endless cake-pop orders, but this didn’t come overnight. With the help of her husband, the Bonilla’s put in their time with creating a business profile, homework time, research and development, balancing acts and time away from the family to launch their business. Fast forward to 2015 Another Bonilla Creation is a household name in El Monte among the community.
