LA PUENTE, CA - Firefighters on Sunday night battled a three-alarm fire at a strip mall near the LaPuente-Industry border.
"They are going defensive," Dispatch Supervisor Robert Diaz of the Los Angeles County Fire Department said. That means firefighters are battling the flames by training water on the blaze from outside of the building to keep it from spreading to neighboring structures.
The blaze was upgraded to a third-alarm as the flames spread to other units in the mall and there were more than 70 firefighters on the scene, Diaz said.
