The California Department of Transportation plans to close portions of Interstate 10 this week as part of a $165 million high occupancy vehicle lane construction project, according to a news release.Ā
The project will add an high occupancy vehicle lane in each direction of the freeway between Interstate 605 and Puente Avenue. Motorists are advised to follow the detour signs and "Slow for the Cone Zone." The prjects is expected to be finished this summer.Ā
The following is a schedule of closures, weather permitting.Ā
Temporary Long Term Closures
- Bess Avenue Pedestrian Overcrossing: Full closure of Bess Avenue pedestrian overcrossing through summer, 2013
- Eastbound Frazier Street off-ramp: Full closure of eastbound I-10 Frazier Street off-ramp beginning August 12, 2013 through August 23.
Monday, August 12 through Thursday, August 15
ā¢8 p.m. to 6 a.m. āSouthbound I-605 connector to eastbound I-10.
ā¢7 p.m. to 6 a.m. āNorthbound I-605 connectors to I-10.

Westbound I-10
ā¢9 a.m. to 3 p.m. -Frazier Street. Baldwin Park Boulevard and Francisquito Avenue on-and off-ramps.Ā
ā¢9 p.m. to 5 a.m. āUp to 3 lanes from Puente Avenue to I-605.
ā¢11 p.m. to 4 a.m. āFull freeway closure from Puente Avenue to I-605.
