Man Fatally Struck By Car When He Exited His Disabled Vehicle On Highway
Breaking: The woman who hit him had already begun to slow due to the crash.

WEST COVINA, CA — A 23-year-old man was struck and killed Sunday by a motorist while he was near his disabled car on the San Bernardino Freeway in West Covina. The 23-year-old man, driving a 2006 Ford Escape, was involved in a crash on I-10 westbound approaching Holt Avenue a little after 12:50 a.m. His car stopped, blocking the number four lane, the California Highway Patrol reported.
He got out of his car and for unknown reasons stepped into the number three lane. A 67-year-old woman from La Puente, driving a 2006 Mercedes-Benz, was slowing for the crash. The man was hit by the Mercedes, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not immediately released. The 67-year-old Mercedes driver was not injured. The CHP's Baldwin Park office asked anyone who saw the crash to call them at 626-338-1164.
