Police Find Marijuana Grow Site in Baldwin Park

The discovery came after Monterey Park Police served a search warrant related to fraud and forgery.

A marijuana grow was found inside a home in Baldwin Park this Thursday when Monterey Park police served a search warrant related to fraud and forgery.

The warrant was served at 13826 Susquehanna Ave. about 2 p.m., according to Monterey Park Police.

The home's occupant, Qi Liao, 31, had been arrested earlier in the day for suspicion of receiving stolen property and an outstanding warrant from San Bernardino County for reckless driving.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department's Hazardous Materials Unit was called to identify an unknown liquid found in plastic containers in the house.

The house was deemed safe, but uninhabitable due to modifications that had been made for electrical and irrigation purposes.

During Liao's arrest, detectives found additional stolen property which led them to his residence.

An additional charge of possession of marijuana for sale will be added to the charges against him.

Liao is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Alhambra Superior Court.
