Motel Murder Victim is Identified

A man found dead at a La Puente motel was identified today.

Melvin Warren, 47, no hometown given, was found dead about 1:50 p.m. Sunday at the Prince Inn Motel in the 800 block of Puente Avenue about 2 p.m. Sunday, sheriff's Sgt. Rich Pena said.

A person of interest was arrested on a drug-related charge, a homicide detective told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

An autopsy is pending to determine the cause of death.
