Mulch Burns Along North End of 605
The fire was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 6:31 a.m.

IRWINDALE, CA -- Mulch burned on the shoulder of the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway Sunday in Irwindale, putting fire trucks on the road near the big gravel pits at its north end.
The fire was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 6:31 a.m., on the northbound 605 Freeway at the Arrow Highway onramp.
The fire was knocked down, but the CHP reported at 8:45 a.m. that the onramp was expected to be closed until at least 12:45 p.m. to allow for clean up.

Fire department officials could bot be reached Sunday.
No injuries were reported.
