Shoes That Fit Campaign is a Success
Local students receive new athletic shoes and socks
Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park and Shoes That Fit teamed up to host a drive for new athletic shoes and socks for kindergarten through third grade students at Potrero Elementary School in South El Monte. Thanks to the generous staff and physicians, more than 300 shoes were donated to students in need.
Caring for children in the community plays a key role in Kaiser Permanente’s mission to improve the health of the communities we serve. Research shows that ill-fitting shoes contribute to many problems in a child’s life at school.
Michelle Nowicki, Chief Operating Officer, Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Medical Center, participated in the program. "Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park is proud to join Shoes That Fit to make it possible for children to attend school in comfort and with dignity," she says.
