Two Baldwin Park Students Awarded Scholarship, Internship from Waste Management in Baldwin Park
Liliana Villarreal and Lissette Gonzalez-Ramirez are recipients of 2015 Waste Management Baldwin Park scholarship and internship programs

High school seniors Liliana Villarreal and Lissette Gonzalez-Ramirez have been named as the recipients of the 2015 Waste Management Baldwin Park scholarship and internship program, which is a program from the local Waste Management office aimed at supporting Baldwin Park students on their quest to graduate high school and pursue educational goals and career aspirations.
“We are very excited to announce the winners of our 2015 scholarship and internship program,” said Teri Muse of Waste Management in Baldwin Park. “Supporting the educational goals of young people and offering opportunities to learn about the exciting world of green jobs is just another way that we demonstrate our commitment to serving in the City of Baldwin Park.”
The two prong program awards one high school senior who has overcome adversity, a scholarship of up to $2,500 towards college while the paid internship offers a student an introduction into green jobs for the summer. Scholarship recipient Villarreal and internship recipient Gonzalez-Ramirez received special recognition from Waste Management earlier this month at a school board meeting and a city council meeting.
