Wrestling Coach Wanted for Sexual Assault of Teenager

Last known residence for suspect Herbert Daniel Ortiz was in Baldwin Park, authorities said.

The sheriff's Special Victims Bureau is investigating sexual abuse allegations against a Rosemead wrestling coach in connection with an assault on a 14-year-old boy, authorities said Tuesday.

The victim was allegedly befriended by Herbert Daniel Ortiz, a 29-year-old from Baldwin Park who was an assistant wrestling coach at Rosemead High School from 2007 to 2009 and has been an instructor for the Bad News Panthers Children Wrestling Club since 2010, sheriff's Capt. Mike Parker said.

The victim's mother said she had been alerted to a YouTube video made by another male saying he had been victimized by the suspect. He warned other parents to protect their children.
