1 Dead In Shooting At Marine Corps Facility: Twentynine Palms
The Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms was under lockdown Tuesday morning.

TWENTYNINE PALMS, CA — A Marine died Tuesday following a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms.
The Marine, whose identity was not released as of Tuesday evening, was transported to a Palm Springs hospital but did not survive, base spokesperson Capt. Nicole Plymale told the Desert Sun.
The combat center was under a shelter-in-place order Tuesday morning following reports of an active shooter at the facility. The incident began around 6:30 a.m., according to the U.S. Marines Twitter feed.

At around 8:30 a.m., "an individual" was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was rushed to a medical facility.
No other injuries were reported and no arrests were announced.

The lockdown was lifted around 9:30 a.m.
It's not immediately clear where on the facility the shooting occurred or what may have triggered the incident.
