15-Year-Old Boy Charged With Murder In MoVal Man's Shooting Death
The teen was charged this week in connection with the August slaying of 42-year-old Juan Genaro Figueroa, the sheriff's department reported.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — A 42-year-old Moreno Valley man who died from a gunshot wound last summer was killed by a teenager, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced Friday.
The 15-year-old boy, whose identity was not provided due to his age, was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder, according to the department.
Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit had been following up on leads since the Aug. 12 killing of Juan Genaro Figueroa.

On that date, deputies were called to the 25000 block of Santiago Road in Moreno Valley about an assault with a deadly weapon. They found Figueroa with a gunshot wound. Despite attempts to save him, the man died at the scene, the sheriff's department reported at the time.
"The suspect(s) fled prior to the arrival of deputies," the agency said.

It's not clear what led deputies to the teenager or how he was found.
The sheriff's department did not disclose what the relationship was, if any, between Figueroa and the teen.
