15,000+ People Expected at Free Leann Rimes Concert in Beaumont

Beaumont's Stewart Park is expected to be packed Wednesday night, as singer Leann Rimes comes to town to perform a free concert.

The concert is part of the city's Summer Concert Series, and will be held at Stewart Park at 7:30 p.m. Ā Though the event doesn't start until then, many people start reserving spots as early as 5 a.m.

City officials tell Patch they estimate 15,000 to 18,000 people will come out.

Rimes has performed the series before, appearing back in 2010.

The summer concerts are all held in conjunction with Market Night, in which food and craft vendors will be on site, but you can also bring your own food and drinks to the events.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the shows.

Throughout the years, the city has lined up some big names in music, includingĀ Air Supply, America, War, Michael McDonald, Three Dog Night, the Commodores, Rick Springfield, Pat Benatar and many others.

Last week, Uncle Kracker performed and these are the remaining shows for 2013:

  • July 31st - Berlin and A Flock of Seagulls
  • August 7th - Rude Boy

The concerts are paid out of the city's general fund. Ā $250,000 was allocated for the shows this year.

Stewart Park is located at 9th Street, between Orange and Maple avenues in Beaumont.
