2 Big-Rigs Crash On I-10 Freeway In Banning

BANNING, CA — Two big rigs crashed into each other on eastbound Interstate 10 in Banning, prompting the closure Thursday morning of several lanes of the freeway.

The crash occurred about midnight between Hargrave Street and Malki Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident prompted the closure of all lanes of the freeway until about 2:45 a.m., at which time the No. 4 lane of the freeway reopened, but the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes remained closed for a longer period.

Details of what led up to the crash were not immediately available.

No injuries were reported.
