2 Dead, 6 Hospitalized In Gilman Springs Road Crash
The head-on crash was reported early Sunday morning.
GILMAN SPRINGS, CA — Two people are dead and six others are hurt following an early morning crash in the Gilman Hills area, according to the California Highway Patrol and Riverside County Fire Department.
The crash on Gilman Springs Road, west of Sanderson Avenue, occurred about 5:55 a.m., the Riverside County Fire Department reported.

Preliminary CHP reports indicate a van and a Kia collided head-on, blocking all the traffic lanes. The coroner was called to the scene a short time later.
"Firefighters arrived on scene and confirmed two victims perished at the scene," a fire report stated. "Two patients suffered major injuries and four patients with minor to moderate injuries were all transported by ground ambulance to area hospitals."

The roadway was closed for about three hours, reports showed.
The CHP is handling the investigation.
