2 Nearby Fires Break Out In San Jacinto

Firefighters were battling a fire in San Jacinto Sunday when a second fire broke out nearby.

SAN JACINTO, CA — Firefighters were battling a mobile home fire in San Jacinto Sunday when a second fire broke out at a nearby residence.

A mobile home fire was reported at 1:15 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of W. Seventh Street, where crews found the mobile home fully involved with fire, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Fire crews were able to contain the fire by 1:40 p.m. and predicted remaining on scene for an additional two hours performing salvage and overhaul.

The second fire was reported just before 1:45 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of South Santa Fe Avenue, where firefighters found the single-story, single-family home with heavy smoke, according to the fire department.

The fire was contained at 2:20 p.m. and the American Red Cross was requested to assist the displaced residents, though it was not clear how many people were displaced. Fire crews predicted remaining on scene for an additional hour for salvage and overhaul.

No injuries were reported from either fire, and the causes were under investigation.
