2-Year-Old Child Found In Road; Parents Suspected Of Child Abuse, Animal Cruelty: SBCSD

LOMA LINDA, CA — The Loma Linda parents of a 2-year-old child are suspected of felony child abuse after a school bus driver found their tot unattended on a road.
Dantion Green McGuire, 34, and Monae Roneisha Myers, 36, were arrested last week following an investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
According to the agency, at approximately 4:17 p.m. Jan. 15, deputies were called about the child, and the bus driver remained at the scene until law enforcement arrived.

Deputies determined the child lived on Taylor Street in Loma Linda, so they conducted a welfare check at the home.
During the check of an apartment in the 25000 block of Taylor Street, deputies spotted "multiple firearms and narcotics within reach of the 2-year-old child and several older siblings," according to the sheriff's department.

Deputies obtained and served a search warrant for the apartment and arrested McGuire and Myers, the department reported.
Jail records show Myers was released from custody the day after her arrest, and McGuire on Jan. 17. In addition to alleged child abuse, both were also booked on suspicion of intentional animal cruelty and possession of a controlled substance while armed.
