5th ANNUAL PROJECT PLAYHOUSE PET EDITION FUNDRAISER SLATED FOR OCTOBER 14-30 AT THE CROSSINGS IN CORONA

OCTOBER 12, 2016 (Riverside, CA) --- HomeAid Inland Empire (HAIE) will stage its 5th Annual Project Playhouse Pet Edition fundraising event October 14-30 at the Crossings at Corona Shopping Center. The Crossings at Corona Dog Daze red carpet pet walk and costume contest event will also return on October 30 with prizes awarded in various categories as part of the festivities.
Creatively-themed pet houses will be raffled and auctioned to help provide funding for HomeAid Inland Empire’s Shelter Development Program that renovates and builds quality, safe housing facilities for temporarily homeless men, women and children throughout San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
The HAIE Project Playhouse Pet Edition
Pet House Village will be open the weekends of October 14-16, October 21-23 and
October 28-30 at the fountain area in front of the Edwards Stadium 18 movie
theater. Shopping center visitors can view the custom-built pet houses and
purchase $5 raffle tickets for an opportunity to win a pet house. A select few
pet houses will be auctioned to
the highest bidder as part of the Dog Daze event at the Crossings at Corona on
October 30 with registration and confirmed online bids through the HAIE
website, homeaidie.org, starting on October 14.

Three or four of the pet houses being raffled or auctioned will also be on display from 12noon to 4pm in front of the PetSmart store at the Eastvale Gateway Shopping Center on October 14-16 and October 21-23, and visitors will have an opportunity to make auction bids or purchase raffle tickets for those pet houses as well as the pet houses being displayed at the Crossings in Corona on those dates.

The pet houses created for Project Playhouse Pet Edition have been built and donated by Lennar Homes Inland/LA Division employees and several of the building company’s subcontractors, as well as employees and subcontractors for KB Home, Construction Management students at California Baptist University (CBU) and the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) Youth Build construction training students.
“In addition to the popular pet houses that have been custom built to be auctioned and raffled to raise funds for HomeAid Inland Empire, the success of Project Playhouse Pet Edition event each year is also due in large part to the generosity of our sponsors and corporate partners," commented Landon Boucher, HAIE Director of Development and chairman of the 2016 Project Playhouse Pet Edition event. “These organizations and companies continue to support the ongoing shelter development work we do throughout the year and, together with our charitable grant providers, are the life blood of our operation as we serve the two-county Inland Empire area’s homeless population,” he added.
“HomeAid Inland Empire’s sponsors, grant providers and other donors are continuing to pay it forward in a big way by helping men, women and children who need a safe place to stay while they work to rebuild their lives and regain self-sufficiency,” stated HAIE Executive Director Ray Osborne.

for this year’s HAIE fall fundraising event.,” he noted.

Since 1990 HAIE, the Riverside-based non-profit organization affiliated
with the Baldy View and Riverside County Building Industry Association (BIA) Chapters,
has renovated or built 37 homeless shelters housing 1,027 beds. The value of
these facilities is over $17.4 million with more than $6.7 million in funding
and in-kind donations of labor and materials provided by BIA members through
HomeAid Inland Empire.
HomeAid Inland Empire is currently working with 18 homeless service provider partners in San Bernardino and Riverside counties including: Olive Crest, Operation SafeHouse, Path of Life Ministries, Mary’s Mercy Center/Veronica’s Home of Mercy, Foothill Family Shelter, U.S. VETS, Corona/Norco Rescue Mission, Project T.O.U.C.H., Family Assistance Program
